Red tea from Yunnan province. In appearance and aroma, this tea is very similar to the famous Fujian Jin Jun Mei, but its flavor profile is quite different, closer to familiar Dian Hongs.
Aroma: bright, sweet-baked, with notes of dried apples.
Taste: bready, with dried fruit flavors, pleasant caramel bitterness, and a hint of astringency. Long, velvety aftertaste.
Effect: warms, relaxes, yet focuses.
Harvest: spring 2025, Yunnan province, China.
Brewing instructions: Use a porcelain gaiwan to fully release the aroma. A clay teapot from Yixing will yield a richer, denser flavor. Warm the vessel well. Use boiling water. For infusion, take 5-6 grams per 100 ml of water. For steeping, use 4 grams of tea for 250 ml of water.
