Gongfu Hong, also known as "Kung Fu Red," is a high-quality black tea from Yunnan Province, China. This tea is renowned for its large, carefully twisted leaves and rich flavor.
Origin:

- Tree Age: The tea leaves are harvested from trees approximately 50 years old and older, growing at an altitude of 1500-2000 meters above sea level.
Aroma:
- Profile: Complex and multifaceted aroma with notes of honey, cocoa, and dried fruits.

- Taste: Sweet, balanced, and full-bodied. Notes of baked goods, dried apricots, and a distinct berry tartness. The aftertaste is juicy, honeyed, fragrant, and voluminous.

Brewing Instructions:
- Teapot: We recommend using a Yixing clay teapot for the best flavor, making the taste more rounded and robust than in a gaiwan.
- Proportion: Use 5-6 grams of tea per 100 ml of water.
- First Infusion Time: 3-5 seconds.
- Water Temperature: Boiling water.
- Tips: Dedicate more time to the tea session, gather friends or loved ones, and enjoy. It also performs excellently when brewed over a fire (according to Lu Yu's method), revealing a dense, rich, and vibrant flavor, showcasing the full power of its aroma and effects!

I bought Rou Gui Gao Shan at Tea Gallery, and it pleasantly surprised me with how it evolves over multiple infusions. By the third brew, the aroma becomes fuller and deeper, revealing a rich body with gentle sweetness, subtle berry notes, and light woody undertones. The classic Rou Gui profile—often associated with cinnamon-like spice, warm minerality, and a distinctive “rock” character (yan yun)—is present here as well, but in a smooth and well-balanced way. The aftertaste is long, with a refined balance between warmth and freshness. It’s the kind of tea that truly shines over extended sessions—perfect for long, relaxed evenings in good company.
This tea is honestly GOATed. We call it "endless / infinite tea", just because of HOW MUCH you can extract from it... With the right conditions and not too hot of a water, we've been genuinely drinking it for hours, and I feel like we never fully finished it... definitely worth it's money
