Baoshan White Tea

Superb useful

After tasting this Tie Guan Yin High Grade, I can honestly say it is one of the most enjoyable oolong teas I have tried. What impressed me most is how elegant and balanced it is. It is not just a tea with a nice smell. It has real depth, a beautiful floral aroma, a smooth body and a long aftertaste that keeps coming back after each sip. The first impression is already excellent, but the tea becomes even more impressive over several infusions.

The aroma is probably the first thing that makes it stand out. As soon as the leaves are warmed, they release a very clean floral fragrance, with notes that remind me of orchid, lilac and fresh spring flowers. It smells natural and refined, not artificial or perfume like. Some floral teas can feel too sharp or too sweet, but this one is much more balanced. It has a bright fragrance, but underneath that there is also a soft creamy sweetness that makes it feel complete.

The taste is equally good. It is sweet, smooth and floral, with a very pleasant freshness. There is a slight astringency, but in a good way. It gives the tea structure and makes the finish refreshing. It never becomes harsh or bitter when brewed properly. The sweetness is not sugary. It is more like the sweetness of pear, white peach, light honey and flowers. The mouthfeel is silky and clean, and the aftertaste is one of the best parts of the experience. After swallowing, the floral note stays in the throat and comes back gently when breathing. That lingering finish makes the tea feel high quality.

What I really liked is that the tea changes as you continue brewing it. The first infusion is light, fragrant and elegant. The second and third infusions are the best, with stronger floral notes, more sweetness and a creamier texture. Later infusions become softer and more mineral, with a delicate nutty note in the background. This makes the tea feel alive. It is not a one dimensional drink. It gives you a full tasting session, and each cup has something slightly different to offer.

This is also a tea that rewards attention. If you drink it quickly without thinking, it is still very pleasant. But if you slow down and notice the aroma, the texture and the aftertaste, it becomes much more interesting. The rolled leaves open beautifully in the cup or gaiwan, and the fragrance changes as the leaves unfold. That makes the experience feel almost ceremonial, even if you are just drinking it at home.

I also liked that it feels both relaxing and energizing. It does not have the aggressive stimulation of coffee. Instead, it gives a calm alertness. It clears the mind and lifts the mood without making me feel nervous. When brewed lightly, it feels soft and soothing, suitable for a quiet afternoon or evening. When brewed stronger, it becomes more intense and more energizing, better for earlier in the day. That flexibility makes it very easy to enjoy in different situations.

The quality is obvious compared with ordinary oolong teas. Lower quality Tie Guan Yin can smell nice at first but quickly becomes thin, sour or flat. This one holds up very well. It keeps producing good infusions, and the flavor remains clean. There is no stale taste, no unpleasant roast, no bitterness and no dullness. The tea feels fresh, carefully processed and well selected. The fact that it can be brewed many times also makes it feel like good value, because the leaves continue to give flavor long after the first cup.

Tie Guan Yin has a long and respected history in Chinese tea culture, especially in Anxi in Fujian province. It is one of the classic oolong teas and is famous for its floral fragrance, rolled leaves and lingering aftertaste. The name refers to Guanyin, the bodhisattva of compassion, and there are old legends about the tea being discovered as a kind of divine gift. That background adds something to the experience. You are not just drinking a random tea. You are drinking a style with tradition, craftsmanship and cultural meaning behind it.

The Tea Gallery version fits that tradition very well. It has the qualities I would hope for in a good Tie Guan Yin: floral aroma, sweetness, smooth texture, freshness, endurance and a long finish. It is especially strong in aroma. The flower fragrance is clear and beautiful, and it stays present across multiple infusions. At the same time, it does not rely only on aroma. It also has enough body and sweetness to make it satisfying.

If I had to describe the tea in one word, I would call it elegant. It is not heavy, smoky or overpowering. It is refined, bright and graceful. It feels like a tea made for slow enjoyment. I would recommend it especially to people who like floral oolongs, smooth green oolongs and teas with a clean aftertaste. It is also a very good choice for someone who wants to understand why Tie Guan Yin is so famous.

I bought Rou Gui Gao Shan at Tea Gallery, and it pleasantly surprised me with how it evolves over multiple infusions. By the third brew, the aroma becomes fuller and deeper, revealing a rich body with gentle sweetness, subtle berry notes, and light woody undertones. The classic Rou Gui profile—often associated with cinnamon-like spice, warm minerality, and a distinctive “rock” character (yan yun)—is present here as well, but in a smooth and well-balanced way. The aftertaste is long, with a refined balance between warmth and freshness. It’s the kind of tea that truly shines over extended sessions—perfect for long, relaxed evenings in good company.

This tea is honestly GOATed. We call it "endless / infinite tea", just because of HOW MUCH you can extract from it... With the right conditions and not too hot of a water, we've been genuinely drinking it for hours, and I feel like we never fully finished it... definitely worth it's money
